What Are You Comfortable With?

• Wordpress. Very comfortable with it! I like plugins, maybe too much! Podcasting also!
• Directory Script. I can install a directory in less than one hour. You can see an example at: http://www.coffeecostarica.org. This script also have exchange links and an article directory. I don’t know why, but I have this obsession about directories! Weird!
• MindMap. I manage MindMaps quiet well! See a mindmap I did plus this article at MinMaps Underdog Tool For internet Marketers!
• Last is Zoom Indexer. This is a tool that YOU could use to make search able all the Pdf files you have. This indexer can index all the words within Pdf documents. You have 10 Pdf and 5000 words. You will be able to create a library where all the words WITHIN these Pdf files become fully searchable!

Tools I Have

1. FrontPage 2000. I know it is old, but to create a simple web page, it is more than enough!
2. XSite Pro. I have it but really never use it. There would have a learning curve but it is there.
3. Mindjet MindManager Pro 7. This is the tool I use to create MindMaps
4. MAGIX Podcast MAKER to create PodCast
5. Keywords Analyzer 7…I am sure you know this one
6. Competion Dominator …really nice tool to spy on your competition…legally!
7. Camtasia Studio 3.0

Attitude (unordered list)

• I respect the hand that feed me
• I don’t have a 9 to 5 attitude
• I am flexible: 25 hours one week, 50 hours another week
• I adapt my schedule to YOUR priority, not mine
• I like to stay at home
• I love my computer
• I am a dedicated person. If one day you tell me there is an emergency, it will be treated like an emergency.

• I am not jealous of success. You made $5000 in a week-end! Good for you and good for me too! I know I will be paid!!

These are details that are more personal. Because personal life has always an impact on work, whatever a positive or negative one!

I am married to a Tica (friendly name for Costa Rican people). Her name is Sarah. Already 13 years! Gee! Times fly! I am a grandfather, 3 grandsons, 2 granddaughters. My daughters are living in Quebec.
In July 2007, after 10 years I sold my CyberCafe here in Costa Rica. I must confess this to you: I need to do something to maintain my brain cells happy! This way I should be able to avoid a visit from Mr. Alzheimer!

In a perfect world, they say that when you can match your hobby with your work, you are on the road to happiness. That interest in Internet Marketing started in September of 2006 and is more alive than ever. Interest with this leitmotiv:

A while ago, I created this mind map for one software company. They were in the process of releasing a new version of their script. I used their written instructions and converted them to a Mind Map!

The first link will show you a “standard” set of instructions for upgrading software. This are the “normal” instructions companies gives to their clients to help them upgrading.

Boring…at the very least!

Example Of A Standard Set Of Instructions For Upgrading A Software-No Mindmapping At All

Now let’s use these the same set of dull instructions, word-for-word, and transform them into a fantastic mind map. In this last example, you will see that it is far easier to understand all the steps to upgrade the software. It is more colorful, more graphical, in a few words more visual! This is exactly what the brain loves!

Example Of A Standard Set Of Instructions For Upgrading Software Using This Time A Mind Map

There is also available a mind map reader, exactly like a Pdf reader. You don’t need to buy Acrobat to read Pdf files. Same thing for mind mapping. You download a mind map reader, install it on your computer. Now you can read any mind maps files. You can’t edit them, but you can manipulate them.

The monster mind map graphic file you just saw becomes much more friendly with the reader. For example rather to see all the branches at the same time, the user could decide to just display the main branches.

Here are a few ideas on how Internet Marketers could use Mind Maps:

• Mind Map Teaser : you have a Pdf report. Why not create a Mind Map that shows up all the topics discussed in your report!? Like a Table Of Contents but much more “brain” friendly. In a few seconds, any potential buyers will knows in one second what you are talking about! Don’t forget: table of contents are boring, Mind Maps are not!
• Mind Map Bonus : for each Ebook purchase, you offer a Mind Map of this very same ebook
• Mind Map New Life : you know and I know that Internet Marketers are promoting the same ebooks. Some add videos, sounds to get this edge over competition. Why not be the only one to offer a mind map with your ebook!
• Mind Map Videos : explaining a software, a system, a strategy with videos is, nowadays, close to become a standard. Make a Mind Map of your strategy for example, and combine this Mind Map with video! I saw that once! It is a killer combo: sound + video + mind map. Very very powerful!

These were just a few examples of Mind Mapping applied to Internet marketing.

No limit In Internet Marketing Pricing Strategy!

Today it will be a short one!

I received in my email box a very clever, nicely made offer…for newbies in Internet Marketing. Reading! Reading! At the very far end, finally the price tag: $1995.00 !

I am not saying it is worth it or it is not worth it! Just read and analyze the sale page. Very well done!

Bottom line is this: the perceived value! For any newbie in Internet Marketing, if budget is no concern, the BUY button won’t be far!

Take a couple of minutes to read this Ryan Deiss offer between the lines: there is a hint in the landing page about how to find a hungry market for any membership site that do not exist yet!

In other words, if you are thinking to create a membership site and don’t have a clue about what you are going to talk about, again, read carefully!

Like the title says, these 3 sites from 3 different authors, offers all together around 60 plug-ins. Around 20 plug-ins by author. Incredible!

These 3 authors are on top of thing! Believe me! How do I know that they are on top of their plug-ins?

Easy answer!

• You always have a date stamped on their plug in. More important, you can see the version history. Many versions, means they are …on top of it!
• You can see the version compatibility of the plug in. Often plug-in authors don’t mention it. They say compatible with 2.0 for example! You have to presume that probably it is ok for 2.1, 2.2 and so on! This is not the best practice! Well with these 3 WordPress author’s plug-in, you don’t have to presume anything! You see right away on their web pages this info: compatible WP 2.0, WP 2.1, WP 2.2, WP 2.3 and so on.
• Last, they answer commentaries pages. It is very well organized, often each plug-in having it’s own feed back page. A date is stamped on comments, date that is not one month old!

Good plug-ins? I mean useful ones?

I challenge you not to install any! More than that, if among these 60 plug-ins you won’t install at the the very least half a dozen of them, scrap this article of mine and post a negative comment right away!

I am more a Copy Paste html code guy than anything else! Even that, if I can avoid it, I will! That is why, I always use WYSISYG html editor (What You See Is What You Get).

However, when you need just a couple of lines, are you going to use the big cannon, i.e. the WYSIWYG editor from your computer? I don’t know, but even this, I try to avoid it. Maybe because I am lazy too!

Yes! No! Yes! No! I was really undecided if I was going to sign up for their services. Some says like Pete Blackshaw “We’re on the cusp of a tragedy of the marketing commons” . Ye! Ye! And Jon Fine of BusinessWeek describes the service as “polluting the blogosphere”.

I disagree!

I think it is a matter of honesty, to be straight with your readers. If there is one specific post that will get you some money, you just mention it to your readers. Nobody shout when they see a can of Coca Cola in a movie. They don’t even mention it! Nobody is going to stop the movie to say: ” Sorry, but this is an advertisement” !

So what is wrong to make money posting in your blog if your reader knows right away the greedy reason of your post!?
